Hornady’s American Whitetail Ammunition is crafted specifically to provide the very best possible performance for hunting whitetail deer. Available in all popular deer hunting calibers, this is the perfect ammunition for you! Opening day of deer season comes only once a year. Make sure you’re ready when the big one steps out and load-up with Hornady American Whitetail ammunition.

Hornady InterLock bullets lock the core and jacket together with a copper ring inside of the bullet, to physically ensure core retention, and maximize energy transfer to the target. The soft point bullets have an exposed lead tip and a broader point diameter that provides rapid, controlled expansion at somewhat lower velocities.

I like the interlock bullets for medium velocity cartridges. They are always able to complete the task without much fuss. There are no surprises here with this ammo, only good expansion, excellent accuracy, and an affordable cost. Dependable is the only phrase that most accurately describes this ammunition. What else could you ask for in the form of a deer load?

Shot two does with this load this season (11/12/20) right through the shoulders. Both deer ran 50+ yards and had very little damage inside. The only good thing to say about this ammunition is it’s decently accurate on paper. Very disappointed with Hornady on this one.

I HAVE BEEN RELOADING MY OWN RIFLE AMMO, SINCE THE LATE 1970’S & STILL CONTINUE TO DO SO, TO THIS DATE (2018). HORNADY BULLETS STILL REMAIN MY FAVORITE ALL-PURPOSE PROJECTILE TO LAUNCH AT EITHER PAPER TARGETS, DEER, HOGS, ETC. THE BOX MAYBE LABELED “AM. WHITETAIL”, SO DON’T LET THE LABEL FOOL YOU INTO THINKING “IT IS A DEER HUNTING CARTRIDGE ONLY “—-WRONG !!!!! FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT RELOAD THE .30-06 SPRINGFIELD, THIS IS WHAT I RECOMMEND AS YOUR FIRST CHOICE IN EITHER THE 150 OR 180 GR. BULLET FOR ELK-SIZE NORTH-AMERICAN GAME ANIMALS. THIS LINE OF AMMO IS MADE TO THE SAME HI-STANDARDS WHICH HAVE MADE HORNADY FACTORY AMMO SO POPULAR WITH HUNTERS. HOWEVER, YOU ARE NOT HAVING TO PAY THE $$$$$ AS THIS IS THEIR LOWEST PRICED BULLET. LESS < TO MANUFACTURE = LOWER PRICE POINT, BUT THE GAME ANIMALS WON'T EVER GUESS THEY WERE "WHACKED" BY A NON-PREMIUM PRICED BULLET-------OOORAH & SEMPER FIDELIS.

This ammo performs as well as or better then more expensive factory loads.

Soft shooting and accurate, have yet to try it on whitetail so didn’t want to give it too high of marks but its a proven bullet so I expect it will do just fine. This ammo is a great value and I think it will do very well against federal fusion and rem core-lok

Great product but if reloading case primers must be removed by punch and hammer, due to base of case having crimped in primer then using a reamer to make primer installation easy.

Hunting in Alabama using an CVA Elite Stalker from 30-06 with 24 inches of barrel, I killed a huge Doe at the distance of 195 yards. The Doe ran for 100 yards but left good blood trail. The wounds at the entrance and exit were each the size of the size of a silver dollar.Excellent shot for whitetail hunting.

Awesome round! I was able to shoot a beautiful young buck head-on to the to the left, with a square in front this year. 24″ penetration , I found that the bullet was just below it on the right side. A perfect mushroom despite the heavy bone! I lost the left leg of my front because bone shards were in the tissue exploding. (I removed the large bone from the leg in front.) (Range is 130 feet as per satellite image map, measured using a range from the shooting location to the location of the deer at the time the shot was made.) I hope this will help to improve your shooting! I’ll be loading to reproduce the results!
